Game 2 Recap!

From Coach Oak's EMAIL:

Hello all,
Well after 2 games under our belts I am proud to say I have seen some
incredible plays happen. I have seen the ball being scooped with two hands,
stopped by legs because the player was in the right position and kids finally
grasping moving to the base even when the ball is not hit to them to cover,
even balls caught in the air.
Good throws and back up plays. These are all positive things after only being
able to get in 3 practices before the season started.
The hitting will come...as the kids get more comfortable at the plate they will
start following thru, getting their feet in the right position and watching the ball
hit the end of the bat.
I am looking for feedback early and often. I am always open to suggestions and
like to hear what I can not see like you do because I'm watching from a different
position than the rest of you.
Keep in mind that we have 3 returning players to this team that played this league
(machine pitch) last year so I am quite proud of where they are.
Just some insight--The team we played Saturday had 5 returning kids from last year
with very little movement of infield players. We played a very competitive game.
The team we played last night had 6 returning players from last
year and if you noticed they did not change positions either. When they did
most of them stayed on the infield.
I like to build confidence with no matter where the kids play. I want them to have fun.
From what I have heard 2 other teams are not moving the kids every inning either.
Yes the kids like to win, lets face it we all do, but more than half had to ask me who won the game.
Do you feel moving them every inning is better or leave them in for 3 innings at a position
to better gain confidence at a position. Your feedback on this question and any other comments are
always welcome.
Thank you for your support and for coming out to cheer on our winners!
